New Minimum Wage increases in 2025

More than 20 states will see minimum wage increases in 2025. The remaining states will keep their current rates. Additionally, the federal minimum wage will stay at $7.25, which hasn’t changed since 2009.

There are still 20 states where the minimum wage meets or falls below the federal limit, meaning those states follow the federal guideline of $7.25.

The minimum wage in New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Westchester County is $16.50 per hour. The minimum wage in the remainder of the state is $15.50 per hour.

Ohio employers with annual gross receipts under $394,000 must pay no less than $7.25 per hour.

The standard minimum wage in Oregon is $14.70 per hour. The minimum wage in the Portland metro area is $15.95 per hour and the minimum wage in nonurban counties is $13.70 per hour.
